  • Although it’s impossible to always know the exact cause, there are usually a few common reasons why a roll might turn out blank. The most common is that the film was loaded improperly. It may seem like you’re taking shots and advancing the film, when in reality the film never properly was caught by the film advancement mechanism. The next most common is that the roll was unused. It’s easy to mistake used rolls with unused ones. We suggest marking used rolls with a sharpie. Last, if you opened the back of your camera before rewinding the film, it can usually cause the roll to come out blank. If you expose the roll to any amount of light, no matter how dim, it will cause the roll to be blank.

  • For our standard and high scans we use a Konica Minolta R8 Super. In addition to a Kodak Pakon f135 Plus. Both are terrific scanners! For Pro Scans we use a Nikon Super CoolScan 9000 and Negative Lab Pro to convert the image.

  • Our lab can develop almost any modern film including color film (c-41), black and white, ECN2, and E6 slide film in 35mm, 120, and 220 format.

110, 126, and APS film we can also do, but have a longer turnaround time due to their less common formats, we have to adjust our scanners and developing processes to handle them.

We can’t develop Kodachrome, Black and White Reversal, souped film, or cross process (unless it’s e6 as c-41.) If you are unsure what type of film you have, feel free to ask us!
